As Michigan’s top law enforcement officer and the people’s attorney, the Attorney General has the power to improve lives across our state by:
Guarding your tax dollars – Crack down on waste, fraud, and public corruption.
Protecting workers – Stop wage and overtime theft, fight worker misclassification, and stand up for union rights.
Defending our environment – Take polluters to court if they risk our air and water.
Lowering costs – Hold big corporations and landlords accountable when they break the law or raise prices unfairly.
Fighting the opioid crisis – Make drug companies pay for the damage they caused and support treatment and recovery.
Standing up to Washington – Stop federal overreach and protect your rights.
Keeping Our Communities Safe
No one in Michigan should live in fear. As a prosecutor, I focused on stopping violent crime. As Attorney General, I will:
- Go after violent criminals, drug traffickers, sexual abusers, and serious, repeat offenders.
- Partner with police and prosecutors and make sure they have the resources needed to do their jobs safely and effectively.
- Treat gun violence as a public health crisis with smarter laws and community programs.
- Make sure our justice system is fair and effective for everyone.
Standing Up For The Vulnerable
We must protect people who need help the most, like children, seniors, and victims. As Attorney General, I will:
- Expand support for child victims and punish those who harm them.
- Fight elder abuse, scams, and fraud targeting seniors.
- Invest in addiction and mental health treatment programs.
- Strengthen efforts to stop hate crimes and make it clear that racism, antisemitism, Islamophobia, and anti-LGBTQ+ hate have no place in Michigan.
- Make sure crime victims have a voice and strong support.
Fighting For Your Rights
The Attorney General should be a watchdog for the people. As Attorney General, I will take action to:
- Address housing affordability by stopping unreasonable rent hikes, housing discrimination, and slumlord behavior.
- Punish price gougers and companies making unsafe or fake products.
- Help local governments build more homes and lower rent.
- Protect workers from wage theft and illegal anti-union actions.
- Clean up pollution and use legal settlements to fix damage.
- Defend abortion rights and keep clinics safe.
- Stop illegal actions by the federal government that hurt our state.
