Karen McDonald’s Campaign Announces Record $1.1 Million Raised in Year End Fundraising Report for Michigan Attorney General Campaign

Campaign Ends 2025 with Strong Fundraising and Endorsements, Including Michigan Education Association and Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union

OAKLAND COUNTY, MICH. – Karen McDonald, the Oakland County Prosecutor who has defined her career by fighting for families and kids, reported raising a record $1.1 million for her 2025 year end campaign finance report, a total that does not include any corporate PAC contributions. The total marks most ever raised by a non-incumbent candidate of either party running for Attorney General in the off year.

“Everywhere I go in Michigan, it’s clear to me that voters are fired up and understand what is at stake in this election with so many attacks on our fundamental rights coming from Washington,” said McDonald. “I am grateful and humbled to have record fundraising support as we put together a campaign to protect our freedoms, uphold the law and keep our communities safe.”

2025 Key Year-End Fundraising Stats:

2025 Raised: $1,138,632.14

$100,040.57 transferred from a prior campaign account

Percentage of Donors from Michigan: 87 percent

McDonald ended the year with strong labor endorsements including from the Michigan Education Association and Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union, following an early endorsement from EMILY’s List, UFCW Local 876, Detroit Plumbers Local Union 98 and UA Local 85.

With strong fundraising support, McDonald was able to travel around on a listening tour in the Upper Peninsula to talk to Michiganders about the issues they care the most about and how the Attorney General can strengthen UP Communities. She also issued a pledge to other candidates to stand independent of the Trump administration in the face of threats to the rule of law.
