OAKLAND COUNTY, MICH. – Today, Karen McDonald, the Oakland County Prosecutor who has defined her career by fighting for families and kids, announced the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union has endorsed her candidacy for Michigan Attorney General.
The endorsement comes following news yesterday that the Michigan Education Association (MEA) has also recommended Karen McDonald for Attorney General.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the support of the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters who do critical work in our communities keeping us safe” said McDonald. “As Attorney General, I’ll fight for the workers of Michigan and to enforce our labor laws, fight against unfair attacks on workers and ensure workers are always treated with respect in the workplace.”
Support from the Michigan Education Association and Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union comes following a strong fall – McDonald reported raising nearly $1 million in the last fundraising period, received the endorsements and declarations of support from EMILY’s List, the Council of Baptist Pastors of Detroit & Vicinity, UA Local 85, UFCW 876, and Detroit Plumbers 98, among others, and released polling showing McDonald was the only Democratic candidate for Attorney General leading the Republicans outside the margin of error.
